This past week we tore off and roofed a house in St. Charles, MO. The roof was rather typical of most roofing jobs that we do. The owners of the home though were particularly helpful and made our job go very smooth. So I’m sure you all want to know what can make our job easier – and your roofing job go quickly and efficiently!

Let’s take a look at a couple things that our St. Charles roofing customer did to make things easy for themselves and easy for us.

Roofing Shingles Delivered

We like to have the shingles delivered before the day of starting the roofing job. Arrangements were easily made with our customer to get the shingles delivered on the roof before our roofing crew arrived to get the job done.

Access to the Driveway and House

When our crew arrived at the home all their vehicles were already moved out of the driveway and parked down the street. Our trucks were able to access the driveway and get all our needed equipment and vehicles right where they needed to be. Don’t forget to get your cars out of the garage! You don’t want to be trapped in your own garage!

Roofing Jobs can be Dangerous for Kids to be Around

This particular family had three small children. I met the kids when I went to give them their free roofing estimate. Great kids – and of course very active. When we arrived at their house to tear off their roof and install a new roof everyone came outside. Mom, Dad, and all the kids said hello to our crew and even joked around a little.

However, in just a few minutes Mom made sure the kids went inside. We love kids – but roofing can be a dangerous job – and its no place to have children around. Falling debris and nails in the landscaping could definitely hurt the kids. All their kids periodically watched us by looking out the windows. They would wave too. It was pretty cute and put some smiles on our hard working crew.

Here’s a special thanks to Mom for keeping the kids inside! Summer days usually mean playing outside but these youngsters were kept inside safe and sound. Our access to the roof was made easy and we were in and out with everything cleaned up – even better than when we got there.
